Michael Fraser Irvine (born 21 October 1939)[1] is a former British Conservative Party politician and the son of Labour Member of Parliament (MP) Sir Arthur Irvine, QC, who was Solicitor General.
Against the national trend, Michael Irvine was elected MP for Ipswich in 1987, unseating the Labour incumbent Kenneth Weetch. In 1992, however, Irvine lost the seat back to Labour's Jamie Cann.
